DEVOU PARK
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Client: City of Covington
Location: Covington, Kentucky
Size: 704 acres
This historically significant hilltop site serves residents of Covington, Northern Kentucky as well as Cincinnati.
The 704-acre site is an unparalleled resource within the region and contains an urban forest, Civil War Batteries, the Behringer-Crawford Museum, an 18-hole golf course, and one of the most dramatic views of the Cincinnati skyline.
The Devou Park Master Plan created a vision for the City of Covington. The plan focused on providing heritage awareness and education, cultural and arts activities, trails, and a wide range of recreational opportunities.
The plan was prepared under the direction of the City and the Devou Park Advisory Committee using a process that emphasized public participation. The team was successful in creating a plan that was sensitive to all the residents’ concerns.
The Master Plan was prepared by Myers Schmalenberger Meisner in 1998.
