DAYTON NATIONAL CEMETERY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
An expansion master plan was created for a 17-acre expansion area to this 70-acre historic cemetery established in 1876.
This was one of four original Soldiers' Home sites created by one of President Lincoln's last bills signed.
The program included the creation of a grave site expansion area, the addition of ceremonial and memorial plazas, restoration and in-fill expansion to the main cemetery.
In addition, was the creation of a new garden niche, interment areas, a future columbaria, a scattering garden, arboretum plantings, entry and landscape improvements, maintenance / service yard additions, and historical / interpretive outdoor displays.
